Complementarian and Egalitarians

This is a blog to wrestle out the two factions that exist in my Christian bubble on the role of woman. This controversial topic has come up more than once, to my own dismay that I cannot stay silent. I admit that I am learning about this topic and I am surprised that once I thought the dust was settled, the issue still remains. One must have a position and I thought I did not need to have one. The issue comes us many times. In our patriarchal culture, the authority rests in male leadership. However, the claim is whether the scripture is clear on the position of God for the authority on men vs women. I argue the scripture is not clear and that does not mean I have a low view of scripture. Instead, I believe scripture is a normative witness for life. I think humans have a capacity to think this through, despite the cultural pressures. The two camps are complementarity and egalitarians.
